I love the suitably army-coloured background wash and the energy Johannes VIII has given to Three's frantic attempts, in contrast to the Brigadier's stance, and it makes me laugh every time I see it (100%).

This is set just before Jo’s arrival and I think is extremely plausible context—both for the Doctor’s skepticism of a new assistant and for how quickly he becomes putty in her hands. It’s also hilarious!

This was written for the "Unsent Letters" exchange in 2022 and the concept is just great, super well executed, and so much fun to read. Lovely and hilarious.

(It is set sometime after the Seventh Doctor episode "Battlefield" - from the Brigadier's point of view, anyway! - which means it technically takes place in 1989, BUT, since that year is already covered, I'm submitting it for 1968, the year when one Alistair Lethbridge-Stewart first appeared. Also fits this month's multi-era theme!)

I love the energy and humour of it (particularly Singe's capturing of Sarah's voice), as well as the sinister weirdness of the concept. It's a really unusual and entertaining read, and I highly recommend it even if maybe you're not always into AUs. It also fits the seasonal challenge as well.

They all feel very much like themselves and the story manages to combine a lot of different beats, from funny and nostalgic, over poignant and surprising, to uncanny and sad.

It was one of the first pieces I thought of when I claimed the character. It includes some mention of the fanmade PROBE videos, but it works just fine if you don't know them, as the author says. (I haven't seen any of them myself, so I can vouch for that). If you love Liz, you'll love this.

And I think that's wonderful. This fic is a gorgeous fluffy romp through the inner workings of the TARDIS, with flashback cameos from just about every Classic era Doctor. And of course, it's framed by the storylet of Ace adjusting to life in the TARDIS, and some lovely flashes of insight into her relationship with the Doctor. Plus, the humor in it is wonderful, and so is the characterization - there are some really good lines in there.
