Title: First Doctor Era | What About Everything?
Creator: relative-dimension-in-space
Rating: gen
Length: 3:44
Creator's Summary: I feel like this song captures the uniqueness of the Hartnell era and the feeling that you could truly encounter absolutely any strange thing each week. Those early days were full of experimentation with the genre that still sets it apart today and I love that about it so much.
Characters/Pairings: First Doctor and all his companions
Warnings/Notes: none

Title: Ian Chesterton | Take the Long Way Home
Creator: relative-dimension-in-space
Rating: Not rated
Word Count/Length/Size: 3:38
Creator's Summary:
Oh, I cried making this. It's something I knew I wanted to do when this time came but being prepared to make it did not make this easier.

I'm honestly in a bit of shock. It doesn't feel real, somehow. With Russ's age I've expected it for years now but because he's always defied my expectations by still holding on it's really hard to believe it now that it's happened. I can't say how grateful I am that we got to see him as Ian one last time and that we got to share this world with him for as long as we did. It's been a joy being in the Classic Who fandom for 11 years now and knowing that one of the all-time greats was still with us. My heart has been so broken all day, but I'm sure it's a relief to him to be able to rest now and reunite with family and loved ones. I'd like to think Bill, Jackie, and Verity are holding a little party right about now. My prayers are with his family left behind on this side.

This tribute is dedicated in memory of William Russell and his wonderfully long life. He truly took the very, very long way back home to his Father in Heaven. Cheers and rest in peace, Russ.

Title: 500 Miles
Creator: relative-dimension-in-space
Rating: G
Word Count/Length/Size: 3.38 mins
Creator's Summary: Another era tribute, this time for the Troughton years. This was so much fun to work on and it's making me want to binge some of these stories again. I love this era and these characters so much and I really, desperately hope that more of it gets found with time. There's a wealth of character work and physical comedy that's just gone and it's so upsetting to not get to see more of these performances. I'd do anything (including walk 500 miles and 500 more) to one day get to watch even more of this beloved, incredible era of the show.
Characters/Pairings: Second Doctor, Polly Wright, Ben Jackson, Jamie McCrimmon, Victoria Waterfield & Zoe Heriot.
Warnings/Notes: None, save for obligatory brief War Games heartache in passing.

Reasons for reccing: I loved this vidder's First Doctor era tribute and they just posted one for the Second Doctor's era and it's also great! It's a perfect match up of song and clips, with exactly the right feel for this Doctor and his companions, and showcases all over again why the loss of every single minute of on-screen Troughton is a crime. In short, it's downright adorable and I hope watching it brightens your day the way it did mine.

Title: First Doctor Era | Gone, Gone, Gone
Creator: [youtube.com profile] relative-dimension-in-space
Rating: All ages
Word Count/Length/Size: 3.29
Creator's Summary: Happy to present my first ever video! I've wanted to make them for years now and finally have the means to. The First Doctor era of Doctor Who is an easy place for me to start because I know it like the back of my hand and it's uncomplicated to edit - I'll definitely be attempting more intensive edits in the future, but I'm very happy to start here with something I love so much. I've wished a video to this song existed for a long time and it's exciting to actually get to see it now that I've done it! Hope you enjoy :)
Characters/Pairings: First Doctor, Ian Chesterton, Barbara Wright, Susan Foreman, Vicki, Steven Taylor, Katarina, Sara Kingdom, Dodo Chaplet, Polly Wright, Ben Jackson.
Warnings/Notes: One brief broken/flashing cut towards the end.

Reasons for reccing: YT dropped this into my feed and I was instantly charmed - it's a really sweet and heart-warming whole era vid for the First Doctor. It's very well done, the song choice works beautifully and the found family celebratory vibe is threaded with the minor note of One's losses. I've not come across anything like this ensemble tribute for this era before, or certainly not so well done, and I've already watched it about six times.
