I was wondering how to interpret "outside the box" and what exactly to rec for it and I decided to take it quite literally, i.e. rec something that focuses on the outside = the world our characters meet when they step outside their blue box.

Creator's Summary: They dared not to look at him... / "This doesn't look anything like Barcelona..."
Characters/Pairings: Eleventh Doctor / Tenth Doctor
Warnings/Notes: none
Reasons for reccing: I was fascinated by these because you don't usually get so much focus on the space surrounding the characters in fanart; the Doctor standing in the middle of each of these is almost dwarfed by the places he's in and I love that the Tardis can be seen in the back both times, almost like a portal that led the Doctor there. I also love that you don't necessarily get what's going on with the surroundings at first glance, at least I didn't (clicking on the zoom-in button is definitely recommended). And not only do they reference key episodes/villains, the colour schemes fit very well with each Doctor and with what the cinematography was doing during their respective eras (blue-ish fairytale lighting / brown-ish earthy-industrial atmosphere).

Title: Oh, What a World

Rating: gen
Word Count/Length/Size: 3:01 minutes
Creator's Summary: Doctor of medicine, science, engineering, candy floss, LEGO, philosophy, music, problems, people. Hope. Mostly hope.
Characters/Pairings: Thirteenth Doctor, Yasmin Khan, Ryan Sinclair, Graham O'Brien
Warnings/Notes: none
Reasons for reccing: Focus on the world outside the Tardis and a really noticeable sense of place were something that stood out to me during the Thirteenth Doctor's first season. This vid, fittingly titled, captures a lot of that, especially in the first section, and with a pervasive sense of wonder and beauty and discovering new things.
