Creator's Summary: On Sky's first Christmas shopping trip, the gang run into an old acquaintance. And visiting Santa's grotto doesn't seem to be as harmless as it ought to be.

Reasons for reccing: It's a typical SJA adventure, set at Christmas. With the addition of some Smith family fun and learning about Christmas traditions.

Title: The Kraftur

Creator's Summary: Maria and Alan house-sit for Sarah Jane and Sky and wonder how many days it will be before alien activity picks up. Turns out they should have been guessing in minutes. Gita lends timely assistance, though she doesn't know it.

Reasons for reccing: There's a whole lot of fun, with the alien causing havoc and them all trying to keep what's going on from Gita. And Mr Smith and K9 competing. But also family, with Maria and Alan spending time together, Rani worrying about her mother, and the Clyde understanding the alien's feelings.

Title: Careful the Wish You Make: Wishes Are Children

Reasons for reccing: It's a chilling look at how things could go wrong in the SJA world. It's so sad and dark and chilling and yet believable.

Title: The Interview

Reasons for reccing: It's all just speech, but it's still easy to tell who is speaking and their tone from the words they use. It doesn't lose anything from not having any description. It's a sweet conversation between Sarah and Harry, turning bittersweet at the end.

Title: Queens of the Marsh

Creator's Summary: "We get so used to fighting the bad guys that we see them everywhere. But this is just for school, right? Normal things like rising yeast levels in the wet-meadow-not-a-swamp. Maybe we don't need to look for alien influence in everything we do?"

"I'm not looking for alien influence in the yeast levels," said Rani, pointing at what looked like a pillar emerging from the dimness in front of them. "I'm looking for alien influence in that."

Warnings/Notes:

Reasons for reccing: For anyone that doesn't ship Rani/Clyde, this is very light on the ship (I wouldn't have known it was meant to be shippy unless I looked at the pairings). It's a great story of Rani and Clyde investigating something alien on their own and coming up with a solution. It uses Clyde's drawing skills cleverly. And also there's some looks into life in Bannerman Road, which is a fun place to be.

For the Mind the Gap seasonal challenge - this technically counts for all the categories apart from reccers, and Sarah Jane is the only character who doesn't qualify.

Reasons for reccing: I'm not big on the idea of being read to, but when I decided to try some podfics I tried this one. Even though I dislike the Clyde/Luke ship. And yet I liked this. The story really builds up tension between Luke and Clyde, and in podfic form it just sucked me in.
