Here, have another set of Twelve/Clara fanvids, this time permeated with sadness. Most of the romantic vids for this ship have a melancholy arc, for obvious reasons. I may have to post a second set later because there are just too many good ones to choose from.
Title: are you looking for her?

Length: 3:30
Creator's Summary: my prayers have been answered and these two got to meet (sorta) one more time! if you don't think they're crazy canon, what are you doing?
Pairings: Twelfth Doctor/Clara
Warnings/Notes: None
Reasons for reccing:Many of the iconic moments from their two-series run are represented here, the ones that turn up in fanvids again and again, bringing out the intense feelings and connections that lead Twelve and Clara to make really bad choices and heartbreaking sacrifices. The way Clara touches the Doctor's face; the number of times Twelve says, "I can save you." Also, you have two actors with extraordinary, emotional eyes, and they're often framed to look at each other as if there is no one else in the room or possibly the universe. The piano track is delicate and bittersweet, a gentle commentary on their doomed relationship.

Creator's Summary: It's not regret, just an unexpected accounting of debts, only now called...
Characters/Pairings: Twelfth Doctor/Clara

Reasons for reccing:This vid uses Vienna Teng's beautiful song as a framework for collecting many of the parallel moments, the reflected gestures, mutual deaths, the fragments and glimpses of memory, to give evidence of a love affair that happened and yet didn't. It's visible in all the details, but the necessary renunciation prevents it from ever being made overt - except perhaps in whatever it is Clara says in the Cloisters. It's a beautiful summation of a pair who are too much alike, too intertwined, and ultimately not meant to be. That final shot of the Doctor nearly dissolving in light, entering the TARDIS like a ghost, haunted by all the ghosts of Clara we've just witnessed, is both a visual statement of great clarity on which to end their journey and simply, breathtakingly lonely.

Creator's Summary: Get yourself a man who fights in his eternal torture chamber for 4.5 billion years just to see you smile again.

Reasons for reccing:This is one of my favorite vids, unashamedly romantic and partisan, a constructed-reality vid that juxtaposes out-of-context lines of dialogue with complementary visuals to endorse a romantic interpretation of Twelve and Clara's tragedy. The narrative doesn't entirely play fair, but it creates a dramatic argument for their tangled and too-intense emotions. It acknowledges the occasions of betrayal and willfulness, the lies and inability to be honest about their feelings, while arranging, through clever editing, for the truth to be brought to light. It leaves the viewer in no doubt of the vidder's opinions on the question of love. The music here rises to a sweeping crescendo, then retreats back into a more circumspect counting of musical seconds right before, as the show does, cutting away from Clara as she prepares to make her confession.
