For the "rare pairings" seasonal challenge, a rare TARDIS pairing. Also fits the monthly "space" theme.
Title: The Memory of Rain
Creator:
capalxii
Rating: Teen
Word Count/Length/Size: 1782 words
Creator's Summary: "Her instincts told her to hesitate, to ask questions, to be wary of this sudden change. Fuck instincts, she thought, and she took a step towards him and into the ship." The Doctor comes back for Journey. Post-Into the Dalek.
Characters/Pairings: Journey Blue, Twelfth Doctor
Warnings/Notes: none
Reasons for reccing: I really enjoyed the interactions between Twelve and Journey in "Into the Dalek" and thought the ending scene with his rejection of her desire to come with was really sad. In this, he does come back after all - immediately after for her, a long time later for him - and she gets to travel with him for a while. There's a lovely melancholy mood in this, with an undercurrent of grief (hers for her brother, and the Doctor's for Clara), and I love Journey's POV, not least for the descriptions of living on a space ship for years on end vs. getting to visit actual planets again.
