Time for a new challenge here at
tardis_library! Our regular monthly theme continues and, of course, you may share any great work you find here at any time, no themes or challenges needed.
Rare Pairings ChallengeTo complete the challenge you need to rec works for at least 5 "rare pairings." The challenge closes at midnight your time zone on Sunday
20 December 2020.
Rare pairings for these purposes can include:
* rare romantic or platonic ships of any kind
* rare TARDIS teams
* rare/unusual character team-ups/ships (whether multi-era, via crossover, or focus on 2+ characters of a team/line-up who don't usually get highlighted together)
* rare/unusual technical mash-ups - vid subject + song/type of music/art subject + style (etc.) combinations (or equivalent for other media).
Recs can be random or you can work your way through one era/character/spin-off if you prefer.
You may make multiple individual recs or small rec sets per pairing or even post one giant rare pairing rec list for all your pairings, but to complete this challenge you do need to rec works for 5+
pairings (so 5 works, 5 pairings earns you your banner and a general sense of accomplishment, ditto 6 recs across 5 pairings or more, but 5 recs covering 4 pairings will not, although it will still make the world a happier place by reccing great works to the comm. XD)
If the "pairing" is not obvious from header info, please spell it out to help the mod keep count. (♥)
"Rare" can differ wildly from New Who and Torchwood compared to Classic Who, other spin-offs and Big Finish ranges, so please use your best judgement according to fandom, but if an established pairing has reached 1000+ it doesn't count as rare here. Specific incarnations of ships may still count, even if the generic form is too large - e.g. Doctor/Rose is too large; One/Rose is not.) However, the comm exists to share excellent fanworks - if you regard it as rare (and it's not got 1000+ works on AO3), then it's rare.

There is no need to sign up for this challenge, but if you want to state your intent (or chooose a theme) here for accountability, go right ahead.
As ever, I hope you have fun - and help shine a light on some of the rarer corners of our fandom!
