May Theme + Request Post

Our theme for April is now closed - here is our new theme for May:

Companions

"Friends, companions I've known, I salute you." (Eight, Night of the Doctor)

This month it's time for the Doctor's friends to take their turn in the limelight. To meet the theme, rec your favourite works featuring the Doctor's many companions, from any media, and remind us just why the Doctor loves them all so much.

Post your recs to the community in the normal way any time from now until midnight on 31st May 2022 in your timezone. (See Info & Guidelines for posting template and instructions). Recs posted for monthly themes have their own tag with banners at the end of the year for reccers who posted something for at least six out of the twelve themes over the year.

When making your post, add the tag "other: monthly theme". (The mods will take care of any other needed tags, as usual, but which challenge/theme a rec is for could easily be missed.)


Our current Seasonal Challenge is Claim A Character, which is still open until 22nd June 2022 for claims and posting!


Request List
Anyone may also request any specific recs they'd like to see. (e.g. "Fourth Doctor fic, not on Teaspoon," "Cheerful Bill Potts artwork," "Leela vid," "recent Ten/Rose," etc.) If you are only interested in one medium (fic/vid/art etc/), don't forget to specify.

I'd like to add a request for fanworks that aren't fic, art, or vids--I'm really interested in seeing what's out there in more unusual media! For instance, fanmixes, filks, meta, recipes, crafts, etc. Heck, I've seen themed tea blends as fanworks before. (I know that crafts like cross-stitch and knitting are also art, but they're not what we usually think of when we talk about art recs.) Thank you!
