This is a reccing community for Doctor Who in all its incarnations, spin-offs, Extended Universe etc. etc.

Members may rec any type of fanwork at any time, although there will also be monthly themes and seasonal challenges, plus requests.

Rules
1. Be civil and respectful to other community members & no bashing of characters, pairings, fanworks, or creators. No hatespeech or harassment is allowed. (Attempts at galactic domination will also be severely frowned upon.)

2. Works recced must be posted publicly at the time of reccing (i.e. not posted to a locked journal etc.). You may rec works archive-locked to AO3, but please note that in the header info of your rec. Please do not rec works in progress, and no self recs. One user may post a max of 2 posts to the comm per day.

What makes a good fanwork is a very subjective subject, but at base line, please ensure that all your recs are complete and generally comprehensible/accessible as appropriate to the medium. (i.e. formatted & punctuated etc.; in the case of podfic, vids etc., that they are visible/audible, with working streaming/downloading links (at time of reccing); and that artworks are finished, visible, & recognisable as the subject etc.) If reccing a crossover/fusion, it should contain recognisable DW-related content/characters.

3. Works may be recced more than once (although please try to vary things up where you can and avoid repeating recs within a short period of time - you can use the tags to check whether or not something has already been recced).

4. You must include some sort of 'blurb' as to why you are reccing the work, however brief. Please include any relevant warnings/content notes in the header template provided, particularly when linking directly to a work without any header/equivalent info. (i.e. spoilers, physical triggers in vids, noting topics that may be triggery - abuse, death, racism/bigotry, non-con etc. Please don't warn for slash/het/femslash etc. or specific pairings/characters.)

Hey, just checking I've understood correctly - if in the reccer's bingo challenge I have more than one story which I'd to rec for a particular square, it's okay to post several of those recs in one post? Say, I know three fics for the 'AI' square I'd like to rec and don't really want to pick just one, it's okay to put all three recs in my post filling the 'AI' square?

(Figured I should finally get started on that bingo card!)

I'm really liking that the template includes how to link to AO3 and other sites for the creator bit. I can never remember how to do it and can't be bothered to look it up, but you've made it easy even for lazy people like me :)

Hi! Thanks for asking! It's not really what this comm is for, I'm afraid - we have quite a set format - but I'm sure you could post a query at

doctorwho (or

dwfiction maybe, whichever is most appropriate). That has a far larger following than this comm anyway & a better chance of success! (Don't worry too much if it's quiet - people are usually still around. It's just how Dreamwidth rolls these days, excepting comms with regular mod-run activities (like this one), but that doesn't mean the general ones aren't still the best bet for a query.)

Plus, if you haven't already looked, there's always

calufrax's comprehensive tags, which might lead you in the right direction, if the fic you are looking for was on the Teaspoon. Good luck! <3
