Creator's Summary: River grits her teeth, one eye on the rear-view mirror of the expensive hover car. She hadn’t expected the owner to notice its absence so quickly.
The city rushes by beneath her, perilously close but she drives the car lower still, darting around buildings and under the bridge that crosses the wide river, looping back over it to try and shake off the police car behind her.
That’s when the blonde woman falls out of the sky.
Characters/Pairing: Thirteenth Doctor/River Song,
Warnings/Notes: Takes place directly after “Twice Upon a Time” (the Doctor's timeline) and “Let's Kill Hitler” (River Song's timeline)
Reasons for reccing: It shows the Thirteenth Doctor acting as a friend and guide to a very young and newly regenerated River Song. I absolutely love the dynamic created between the two and the adventures they go on together. It’s heartbreaking in many ways though, as the Thirteenth Doctor knows that she’ll inevitably have to say goodbye to River again because she needs to have her future, she needs to have her future with the Doctor even though it inevitably leads to her death. It’s a wonderfully joyful and beautifully sad fic.
