Creator's Summary: A quickie done while listening to one of the audio adventures with Eight and Charley. She's one of my favourite companions in only a few audios. Styling herself an Edwardian adventuress, she runs away from home and stows away on a zeppelin disguised as a male member of the crew, on her way to Singapore, then ends up travelling with the Doctor instead.

I imagine she got him to have this taken of them at some point in their travels.

(She should have much lighter hair, but, oh well. Maybe she dyed it.)

Reasons for reccing: I've recently started listening to the Eighth Doctor audios and utterly fell in love with Charley Pollard, and the adventures being audios, I wanted to find some fan art of her, and now have way too many tabs open of art with Charley and the Doctor. This one is an incredibly beautiful image done in the style of old-timey sepia coloured portaits, and they both look fabulous and very in character. With the image style and the period dress, it also counts for the "Historical" theme!

Yes! I've just discovered her in the past couple of weeks, and I adore her madly. I've only listened to a few adventures and she's already become one of my favourite companions and favourite characters, period. She's so fab! (Also OMG I've got a het ship, look at that! *g*)

(Though I'm trying to get through Minuet in Hell at the moment so I can get back to good stuff. I breezed through the first three stories but argh, this one is a pain to listen to - literally, because the biggest problem is most of the voices and the accents. I wish the story could just stick to Charley and Becky Lee, the Doctor and the Brig. I could listen to them all day.)

I was like that with her, too, but some people are annoyed by! (Probably due to Later stuff, so we won't talk of that.)

And, lol, no Minuet in hell is not the best, sadly, because Eight and the Brig should definitely have a better story together! (I'm pretty sure that's generally agreed to be far and away the worst of that initial run, so take heart! Better stuff is coming!)

And, yay, I mean I love them as they are in audios, but I am definitely up for Eight/Charley.

I'm going to see what I think of Later Stuff, but I love her so much now that I'm unlikely to lose it totally even if I turn out not to like everything later on.

Yeah, I got the impression already beforehand that this is not considered one of the best, and clearly there's a reason. But I'll power through and then I can get to better stuff again!

For me, shipping anyway tends to mean "I like the idea of this pairing and I like imagining it and I'll read/write fic and look at art" - not "I think this is/should be/will be canon and I will not be satisfied with gen/non-romantic canon or other pairings". I'm slightly baffled with the kind shipping where the ship is the only relationship you'll accept for those characters. I love gen and platonic and/or ambiguous relationships, sometimes I just also have a ship. :-)
