Reasons for reccing: This is an absolutely dazzling video that shows the kind of twisted nature of these two. I feel like the word “desperation” is the best descriptor for how their relationship is shown because it kind of focuses on the dynamic conflict between the two and the desperation they both feel. The desperation for attention, for redemption and change, and just the desperation for connection I think. The vid just does a great job of showing the conflict between these two characters across the New Who era.

They’re friends and enemies and everything in between and so much more. And I think this vid does a good job of parrelling them to each other and showing how they are similar in some ways but so fundamentally different too.

The song “Oblivion” (by Zayde Wølf and Neoni) has an almost fatalistic tone which creates this sinister aspect to the vid that complements the vids theme of “i had a friend once.” Their relationship is fatalistic in a sense.
