Title: Ian Chesterton | Take the Long Way Home
Creator: relative-dimension-in-space
Rating: Not rated
Word Count/Length/Size: 3:38
Creator's Summary:
Oh, I cried making this. It's something I knew I wanted to do when this time came but being prepared to make it did not make this easier.
I'm honestly in a bit of shock. It doesn't feel real, somehow. With Russ's age I've expected it for years now but because he's always defied my expectations by still holding on it's really hard to believe it now that it's happened. I can't say how grateful I am that we got to see him as Ian one last time and that we got to share this world with him for as long as we did. It's been a joy being in the Classic Who fandom for 11 years now and knowing that one of the all-time greats was still with us. My heart has been so broken all day, but I'm sure it's a relief to him to be able to rest now and reunite with family and loved ones. I'd like to think Bill, Jackie, and Verity are holding a little party right about now. My prayers are with his family left behind on this side.
This tribute is dedicated in memory of William Russell and his wonderfully long life. He truly took the very, very long way back home to his Father in Heaven. Cheers and rest in peace, Russ.
