paranoidangel: Harry Sullivan, Harry Pearce, Harry Potter (Harrys)

Title: The thoroughly decent Harry Sullivan!
Creator: [youtube.com profile] chocolatesal
Rating: G
Word Count/Length/Size: 4:24 minutes
Creator's Summary: Someone suggested to me that Harry was a bit of a useless companion so I decided that he deserved his own video to prove how great he (and Ian Marter) really were! All Copyright - BBC
Characters/Pairings: Harry Sullivan, Sarah Jane Smith, Fourth Doctor
Warnings/Notes: None

Reasons for reccing: This vid picks out all the times when Harry was at all heroic and makes it look like the whole time Harry was around he was being the hero. It's nicely edited so the visual matches to the words in the music. It's a fun reminder of how great Harry was.

I was wondering how to interpret "outside the box" and what exactly to rec for it and I decided to take it quite literally, i.e. rec something that focuses on the outside = the world our characters meet when they step outside their blue box.

Title: The Cavern / The Factory
Creator: [deviantart.com profile] orneryjen
Rating: gen
Creator's Summary: They dared not to look at him... / "This doesn't look anything like Barcelona..."
Characters/Pairings: Eleventh Doctor / Tenth Doctor
Warnings/Notes: none

Reasons for reccing: I was fascinated by these because you don't usually get so much focus on the space surrounding the characters in fanart; the Doctor standing in the middle of each of these is almost dwarfed by the places he's in and I love that the Tardis can be seen in the back both times, almost like a portal that led the Doctor there. I also love that you don't necessarily get what's going on with the surroundings at first glance, at least I didn't (clicking on the zoom-in button is definitely recommended). And not only do they reference key episodes/villains, the colour schemes fit very well with each Doctor and with what the cinematography was doing during their respective eras (blue-ish fairytale lighting / brown-ish earthy-industrial atmosphere).

Title: Oh, What a World
Creator: [personal profile] laurashapiro
Rating: gen
Word Count/Length/Size: 3:01 minutes
Creator's Summary: Doctor of medicine, science, engineering, candy floss, LEGO, philosophy, music, problems, people. Hope. Mostly hope.
Characters/Pairings: Thirteenth Doctor, Yasmin Khan, Ryan Sinclair, Graham O'Brien
Warnings/Notes: none

Reasons for reccing: Focus on the world outside the Tardis and a really noticeable sense of place were something that stood out to me during the Thirteenth Doctor's first season. This vid, fittingly titled, captures a lot of that, especially in the first section, and with a pervasive sense of wonder and beauty and discovering new things.
