Reasons for reccing: A nice story, the first of a series, in which the Doctor goes the fob-watch route and dies human, and his grandson, one Harry Potter, inherits a name and a rather weird life-style. It's a good blend of both worlds, though the Who side actually gets more action, and you get fun stuff like Micky and Martha reacting to a Doctor who appears to be about 12 years old. The sequels include an unfinished AU where Harry becomes the Master rather than the Doctor

Reasons for reccing: As soon as I saw this prompt on my rec bingo card, I knew I had to rec an Evelyn story. The question, of course, was, which one should I rec? After all, I have never met an Evelyn fic I did not adore. After a good fifteen minutes of browsing my bookmarks, I remembered this lovely story. It's a wonderful soft moment between a Doctor that does not know Evelyn yet, and Evelyn herself, who (characteristically) is not taking any of his nonsense, no matter which incarnation he's in. 

Despite the author's claims to the otherwise, their Five voice is really quite spot-on, as is Evelyn's. It's such a lovely, magical fic, full of chocolate and warmth and hugs and it just makes me really very happy. We all need a friend who's willing to make chocolate cake for us in our lives, don't we? I know I do.

“I never said it was a he,” Tasha replies. “And no, you aren’t.”

Now he’s really intrigued. “Have I ever met her?”

“Probably. You seem to have met everyone of historical significance.”

“Almost everyone,” he corrects her. “Never met Abraham Lincoln. That seems like an obvious one, doesn’t it? But I guess it just... slipped my mind. I'm getting old, it was bound to happen eventually."

Reasons for reccing:A well crafted look at three hundred years on Christmas, between the Doctor and Tasha. The Eleventh Doctor is perfectly realized in this tale: mad and brave and also lonely and a bit scared at this long stretch of future staying put. And the author shows us two sides of Tasha Lem, as both a leader and a person. The evolution of their relationship is natural and beautifully done in the snippets of time through the ages, and though we know parts of the ending that is coming, it still has elements of surprise and emotion.
