Reasons for reccing: Bonus rec for 1996 (since it's when the novel was published).  Sands of Time might be my favorite Fifth Doctor novel ( well, it or Cold Fusion).  And this is a lovely, in-character missing scene for it.  The images are detailed and vivid,  and it's actually a bit heartbreaking at points.

Reasons for reccing: For 2013 in the Anniversary special.  This is a thoughtful and well-done Missing Scene for The Day of the Doctor.  With a sweet, if a little bittersweet , edge.
