I'm going to see what I think of Later Stuff, but I love her so much now that I'm unlikely to lose it totally even if I turn out not to like everything later on.

Yeah, I got the impression already beforehand that this is not considered one of the best, and clearly there's a reason. But I'll power through and then I can get to better stuff again!

For me, shipping anyway tends to mean "I like the idea of this pairing and I like imagining it and I'll read/write fic and look at art" - not "I think this is/should be/will be canon and I will not be satisfied with gen/non-romantic canon or other pairings". I'm slightly baffled with the kind shipping where the ship is the only relationship you'll accept for those characters. I love gen and platonic and/or ambiguous relationships, sometimes I just also have a ship. :-)
